Between May 17–19, we held our 15th Professional Development Seminar in Kraków, Poland, bringing together 23 educators from Israeli and European Jewish schools across 9 countries for several inspiring days of learning, discussion, and collaboration.
During the seminar, participants explored Centropa’s database and educational resources, with a particular focus on the 20th-century Jewish history of Kraków. The program offered meaningful professional development opportunities while introducing innovative approaches to teaching Jewish history through personal stories, photographs, and archival materials.
Highlights of the seminar included:
- Exploring Kraków’s Jewish heritage—past and present
- Diving into Centropa’s rich collection of Jewish family stories, photographs, short films, and podcasts, with a special focus on Poland and Kraków
- Collaborating with fellow educators to create new educational materials
- Joining a unique community of passionate educators dedicated to bringing 20th-century Jewish history and personal stories into their classrooms
The seminar was co-funded by the European Union and the Jack Buncher Foundation.
