Regional seminar in Tel-Aviv (2025)

This year, after a long pause, the Centropa Jewish Network returned to Israel with a two-day professional development seminar in Ramat Gan, bringing together 20 middle and high school teachers from across the country. Some participants joined Centropa for the first time, while others returned after previous programs, reflecting the lasting value our work provides.

Educators explored Centropa’s methodologies and resources, including films about Rosa Rosenstein, Erna Goldmann, and Leo Luster. The program combined presentations, screenings, and guided discussions with practical workshops on Jewish identity and the use of AI tools in education.

The goals of the seminar were:

  • Explore how personal stories and testimonies can be used to teach 20th-century Jewish history and identity

  • Engage with Centropa films and biographies as powerful classroom resources

  • Learn innovative teaching tools, including practical uses of AI in education

  • Connect with fellow Israeli educators and collaborate on lesson plans

  • Become part of a unique professional network of Jewish educators
The seminar was co-funded by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and the Jack Buncher Foundation.
