Past Competitions

Your students probably use their smartphones, tablets, and new technologies all the time. Why not use this and ask them to create short films they love? This was the original idea behind our yearly student competitions. Year after year, the competition has grown more popular and its framework has evolved, and students from European, Israeli, and North American Jewish schools can now participate, not only with video projects but also with art and photography projects.

In the framewok of the CJN student competition, students can create films in one of the three categories, Virtual Jewish Cookbook, Family History and My Community. Your students will not only learn how to research, work in a team, and edit a film – they will also have fun. 

Alternatively, for students who are full of creative ideas, love to draw, or express themselves through the language of art, can participate in the competition with an art piece.

Additionally, students who constantly take photos can find inspiration in the Centropa films and photos, sparking their creativity to start new projects. In the framework of the CJN student competition, students can also create photos in one of the three categories: My town/My community, My family and My Jewish hero.
